Miami cyclist suspended for doping violation (AP) The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency suspended a cyclist who tested positive for a banned substance. USADA officials said Wednesday that Ricardo Hernandez of Miami accepted the two-year suspension on Sept. 15. USADA officials say the 42-year-old tested positive for exogenous testosterone. The suspension means Hernandez is disqualified from all results from March 2, 2008 and thereafter.
Italian cyclist Leonardo Piepoli was given more time to prepare for a hearing into his positive doping tests at the Tour de France. The hearing, originally set for Friday, has been rescheduled for Oct. 22 by the Italian Olympic Committee's anti-doping prosecutor. Piepoli had asked for a delay.
