In 2012 the Mt Cooth-Tha Challenge more than 2000 cyclists participated in Brisbane's toughest day of cycling. With perfect weather the day of the ride a fast pace was set in comparison to last year with most overall times and Mt Coot-Tha time checks being faster than the previous edition. The event in 2012 started at South Bank and traveled on an exciting new route over the Gateway Bridge bike path, down Kingsford Smith Drive, the ICB and finished at the new finish site Musgrave Park.
The fastest time up to Mt-Cooth-Tha in 2012 was the defending champion Correy Edmed in a time of 6 minutes and 32 seconds. Katrin Garfoot was the fastest female with a time of 8 minutes and 25 seconds.
It was fantastic to see so many River City Cycles Kits at the event, especially at the start line positioned in front of a sea of cyclists.
